Local Flavor: Tunbridge World's Fair
Family will always drag you to the Fair whether you're worn-out or not, so the smart man will comply and head to the Tunbridge World's Fair when the group decision has been made -- even if it is 88F degrees and humid. There's always fries, ice cream, and tractor pulls, right? When the girls are older I'll get them to suffer through John Deer and Fords yanking random grading equipment around!
I have to admit that carousels are my favorites. Bonnie and I used to frequent the one in Roger Williams Park in Providence, RI where you could ride goats, giraffes, and seahorses as well as more traditional mounts -- but I won't knock the standard horse one bit.
This girl is going to be a maniac driver. Every road-vehicle ride she's been on generates the most terrifyingly-joyful grin.
Meanwhile, the old-fashioned ride is barrel-walking.
There was an early gas-powered portable sawmill...
...and splitter operation going on!
Note that the splitter has wedges on both sides. Double the productivity!
Every year we visit the print shop to grab freebie bookmarks and watch the inkers...
...and every year Oona borrows my camera to snap one of her Dad.
