2000s Ovation Applause AA12 Travel/Terz Guitar
This little 1/2-size guitar sports a "terz"-size scale length and the usual durable, synthetic, bowl-shaped Ovation-style rear. While these are intended to be either kids' instruments or travel instruments, standard E-to-E tuning sounds terrible on them. I've strung this one with 46w-10 extra lights and tuned it up G-to-G (like a capo on guitar's 3rd fret) and that brings the sound up to where this little box feels comfortable and the instrument becomes musically useful.
It's in as part of a trade/consignment group and is in good health. The neck is straight, the frets good, and the truss works. There's only very minor use-wear evident and that's restricted to a little discoloration at the headstock's face and some corrosion at the strap buttons.
Work included: minor cleaning, compensation added at the saddle, and a good setup. Action is hair-over 1/16" EA and 1/16" DGBE at the 12th fret.
