2010s G&L Tribute ASAT Deluxe Electric Guitar
A consignor picked this up in trade and as he's mostly an acoustic guy, this fella wound-up here. While the G&L name has graced a lot of very nice American-made instruments, this one is from their "Tribute" range and was made in Indonesia. Its quality level is about the same you'd see from a nicer-grade Squier model. It's basically "shop worn" and quite clean throughout save minor usewear, though I did need to give the frets a very light level/dress job before setup.
Modern electrics are pretty compelling at their price points -- the neck on this is in good order and it features a wide-sounding tonal palette and a "Les Paul" sort-of "carve" to the top while not weighing like a boat anchor. The two humbucker pickups (very Les Paul-ish) are splittable to single coil operation with a push/pull tone pot and when in single coil mode the 25 1/2" scale length and Fender-style bridge give a bit more of a clean, clear, Fender voice. With the buckers operating normally this has that darker, more aggressive, bar-rock swagger that you'd expect from the looks of the guitar.
It's definitely a decent" 2-in-1."
Repairs included: a minor fret level/dress, cleaning, and restring.
Setup notes: the neck is straight, the truss rod works, action is bang-on at 1/16" overall at the 12th fret, and the strings are 46w-10 gauges with a plain G.
