1960s W.R. Schuster 4/4 Violin Bow

This bow is is marked "W.R. Schuster" above the frog and is German-made somewhere between about 1950 and 1965. It's a quality bow and sounds rich and full on all of the fiddles I have in the shop. It gives a significant improvement in fullness of tone compared to the average bow.

Wood-wise, it's pernambuco and has an octagonal shape. The frog is ebony with pearl dots. It has plenty of hair left and, surprise-surprise! -- it's straight under tension and stable, too. It's rare for me to pick up an old bow that's as straight as this one is and still in good order. The winding is silver and its pad is in good order.
