1918 Weymann Style 10 Soprano Ukulele
This is one of two Weymann Style 10 ukes I just finished working on -- both for different owners. That's odd on its own because there just aren't very many Weymann ukes out there in the world. This one arrived in very good condition but did need some minor work and a new set of pegs to get it up to snuff.
Weymann ukes are basically clones of Martin Style 0 instruments right down to the measurements, aesthetic details, and bracing. They're slightly stiffer (typical for Weymann anything production) and so have a little bit of a brighter tone. Still -- this one sounds more or less identical to a good Style 0 from the same period. A lot of earlier Martin ukes were stiffer in the box as well -- it's only by the mid-'20s that they really more-or-less always have that "Martin uke" sweet/mellow velvety sound. That's my own experience, though.
Repairs included: fret level dress, new Pegheads 4:1 geared tuners at the headstock, setup.
