2021 Warmoth Roasty-Toasty Super-Strat Partscaster Electric Guitar
A consignor of mine was clearing-out his whole collection of electric instruments and has since moved into acoustic-only. The neck, body, and bridge of this guitar were in that collection -- though they were just parts at the time. This instrument is quality throughout. The neck is a Warmoth "boatneck" Telecaster neck in roasted maple with a Warmoth-applied satin finish on it. The body is a Warmoth "Soloist" Super-Strat-style body in roasted swamp ash. Both are lightweight, well-built, and they also feel good.
The hardware is almost all quality Gotoh (Japan) products -- a two-point Strat-style whammy, Kluson-style tuners, Fender-style strap buttons, and dome knobs -- all in a gold finish. Non-Gotoh parts include Artec (?) Korean "wide-range" Alnico V humbuckers (which sound excellent -- crisp and clean), roller string tree at the headstock, import gold neckplate and screws, Switchcraft jack, genuine Fender 3-way switch, Bourns 500k pots, Mallory 022 capacitor, and cloth-style wiring. It's got EVO Gold jumbo frets, too!
Anyhow, I assembled all of this in the way I'd want the guitar to be if I were making it for myself and it handles beautifully and has a vintage-style, clean sound that recalls FilterTron voicing mixed with Wide Range voicing. It can push an amp if you want it to, but played clean it sounds sure of itself and notes leap right out. I finished the body in a thin satin wipe-on poly that goes-on a bit like French polish -- leaving a look and feel that's as close to "bare wood" as possible while still being sealed and giving the grain a nice luster. The whammy is accurate and returns to pitch nicely.
Repairs included: source parts, finish body, fit pickups, make wiring harness, fit hardware, new bone nut, glorified setup, and whatnot...
