2004 Cort PW-340 Parkwood Jumbo Guitar

This looks like a Cort PW-340FM model, save that it has a solid cedar top rather than spruce. It's a nice-sounding instrument -- full, crisp, and big-sounding -- and has a quick, easy feel after setup. I'm constantly surprised at how good modern, less-expensive guitars are these days. It was made in the Cort factory in Korea and aside from that cedar top, it also features solid flamed maple back and sides, too.

I'm not sure if this will be for sale or not (the owner is doing an A/B/C of a number of jumbos he bought), but it didn't need much when it got here. I leveled/dressed the frets lightly, restrung it, and set it up. It still has a nice, tall, factory saddle. I wish modern Martins could go 15+ years without having to have the saddle shaved down near to the deck due to top/neck joint drift. Just saying...

As you can hear, it sounds like what it is -- it has that long-scale snap and jumbo-style projection, an even/balanced overall voice, and a creaminess/mellowness to the upper-mids and immediate warmth that you get with cedar. It's an interesting instrument. I don't see a lot of cedar-topped jumbos up here because I'm mostly working on old stuff.

Repairs included: fret level dress, setup

Condition notes: it's pretty clean throughout and its satin finish looks good. It does, however, have small scratches here and there and a few small dings and pickwear around the soundhole in the cedar top. Cedar is really soft so that's not surprising to me. At a glance, though, the guitar looks new-ish.
