Local Flavor: Closed Tuesday & Bug Hunt

It's been raining almost every day for weeks. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the only day that looks solid for outdoors stuff for some time, so I have to take it off or the kids might just tie me up and feed me to the critters that live in our woods.

Those critters? I've seen... coywolves, foxes, ermines, martens, fisher cats, raccoons, porcupines, otters, beavers, squirrels, chipmunks, flying squirrels, deer, moose, falcons, eagles, ravens, owls, assorted songbirds, assorted rodents, and assorted reptiles and amphibians. So... it's no joke. I would be eaten if they're given half a chance.

SO, to repeat: I will be closed Tuesday but back on Wed-Sat for regular hours.

Because it's been raining I haven't been shooting outdoors much at all. Usually this time of year I'm off on walks and adventures all over the place before or after shop hours. I figured a bug hunt might alleviate my housebound tension and... it did... but I kept getting a little too close to the subject for good focusing. Sorry!

This moth, I believe, was depositing eggs and wouldn't stay still long enough for me to grab it. As a bonus, there's some sort of bug I didn't see when I was shooting it in the right-hand lower corner.

Hope you had some good outdoor fun while you could. Tuesday night, and it's raining *again* in New Hampshire.

Jeesh, yes, it rained for the last 1/3 of the trip back from your state's seacoast... by which I mean ridiculously violent thunderstorms with wild lightning and all of that. I laughed maniacally and enjoyed the lightshow but the kids & B were less impressed by nature despite my reassurances that cars are natural Faraday cages...
