1900s German-made Caspar Da Salo (Copy) 4/4 Violin

Double purfling! One-piece back! Clean, lightly-sloping carve! What's not to like? It's a beaut.

This is not really a 1593 instrument as stated in the soundhole but is in reality a late-1800s, early-1900s factory-built instrument from Germany. It's quality, though, and sounds the biz. I wish I'd had time to do a video, but suffice to say tone is clean, clear, and really very focused and gutsy. It has a "sauciness" in the lower mids and a fullness in the upper mids that really pushes each note out.

It was just here for a neck reset and I pinned the joint as well, just in case. It'd slipped a little (causing the action to get crazy-high) on a hot day, I believe...? The rest of the work was just light stuff -- seam repairs, minor setup adjustments, etc...
