1960s Harmony H1270 Sovereign 12-String Jumbo Guitar

Hey -- it's yet another big old Sovereign 12-string! As per the usual, this is a jumbo-sized instrument with a dreadnought-ish body outline and features a ladder-braced, solid spruce top over solid mahogany back and sides. Just like the old '20s and '30s 12-strings, it uses a floating (rather than pin-style) bridge and tailpiece string load. 

Because the build is so light, the sound on these -- with this setup -- is huge, woody, full, and warm. It's also pretty punchy and up-front, too, so it really suits fingerpickers and bass-run aficionados quite well.

A customer sent this guitar in for repairs and it arrived in very good physical shape, albeit needing a neck reset, fretwork, a pickguard, and compensated saddle. I've done all that and it's now playing fast and easy and in-tune. Bonus points should go to the owner who sent a nice sheet of actual celluloid to use for making my repro pickguard. I modded the original bridge to include a drop-in saddle slot with a wide, fully-compensated bone saddle. This makes action adjustment a little easier when the time comes.
