1994 La Patrie (Godin) Etude Classical Guitar

My local friend Jim has owned this guitar since new. I thought it was a little older than it actually is because when I saw it (before work) it had fretboard grunge on it that made it look at least '80s. Now that it's cleaned-up it looks like the '90s guitar it is. He's clearly put some hours into it and a lot of that is because it's his "work-lounge" guitar and ready to go at his fingertips when the itch arises.

Even though it's a "classical" guitar, I think in sound it plays more like a folk or flamenco nylon-stringer. It's definitely on the brighter, more-chipper side of the spectrum and I like the way those "brushy" chord-snaps sound on it. "La Patrie" is yet another Godin, made-in-Canada, products imprint.

What a coincidence. I bought mine yesterday. Made in Sept 1994. In slightly better shape but for $245 I'm totally thrilled. It'll look great on the wall with her cousin Norman.
