2010s Jason Twigg-Smith (Vermont) "Birds on a Wire" Flyweight Electric Guitar

Here's another "Jerry-themed" Twigg-Smith (local Vermont builder) guitar. This one has the same ridiculously-light build as the last and features a body with a sycamore top cap fit over a butternut core and maple back cap. The neck is butternut/maple/butternut and has a bloodwood fretboard with some killer ebony raven/crow inlay down its entire length. The pickup surrounds are ebony and it has black hardware to seal the deal. It's a slick modern-looking guitar with style cues from '70s jam-band flavors.

While it has a Gibson-style scale length and SG-style construction (set neck, lots of frets free), it has an interesting pickup and wiring setup that lets the player flit between Gibsonesque tones right into Stratland and beyond.

Rather than a 5-way lever switch, pickup switching is done through three mini toggles. This has an S-H-H configuration with a single-coil Strat-style pickup at the neck and two humbuckers (PAF-style, open-topped) below it. The mini-toggles allow for "single coil" mode or "bucker" mode in the humbuckers and the single coil toggle allows for "on" and "on with poles swapped" switching. That way you can get a ton of Strat-like tones when paired with the buckers in "single coil" mode or a mix of Strat/SG tones "as normal" on the buckers and plenty of out-of-phase or downright weirdo-tones as well.

My only work on it was a glorified setup and it's ready to go and playing fast and easy. Everything works as it should and the build quality is up there and it's cleanly done.

Repairs included: a glorified setup.

Condition notes: it's essentially new but does show very mild playwear in the usual "picking areas" and around the controls. There's a little bit of light scratching here and there, too, but basically nonexistent. It basically looks "new, but a hair shopworn." The maple control cavity cover has mild distortion to it -- it's not exactly flat anymore -- but again, it's not obvious.

It comes with: a nice hard case.
