1998 Martin D-28 Dreadnought Guitar
Aside from mild pickwear at the soundhole and a little wear to the finish at the "contact points" along the binding, this guitar just looks "shopworn." It's a one-owner D-28 and was bought new by the owner. He's clearly taken care of it while also putting some miles into it. It's now aged into a robust, classic-sounding instrument and after a glorified setup it's playing spot-on and fast.
I mean -- it's pretty hard to complain about a D-28. They've got the velvety, lake-like bloom and punchy, sweet highs that we've all heard on a bunch of old records. This guy has the more modern, post-'70s neck profile and truss rod, too, making it a little easier on the left hand than the "old guy" Martins. It still sounds like an "old guy" Martin, though, as it's been played-in enough to bring its voice out.
