1998 Guild Bluesbird Semihollow Electric Guitar

This guy was a "just passing through" guitar -- it got a glorified setup and it was then back out making music. The serial number is similar to Guild's list for '97 but the number is just slightly higher than the range they mention, so I'm assuming it's a '98. It's well-traveled and played hard, but hasn't been abused.

My thoughts on this instrument? It's basically a Les Paul, right? -- and sounds like one and feels a lot like one, though it weighs-in around 7lbs because the body is chambered with a centerblock rather than a solid hunk of mahogany. The waist and body proportions are also more generous than a Paul, too, which makes this a lot more fun for me to play. I think the mix of the narrow waist and heavy weight of the average Paul is what makes me not want to play them, whereas the "normal" weight of this guy and it's more-regular waist dimensions make it fun to play.

Closing thoughts -- well-built, good looks, nice-sounding pickups (though perhaps a little hot), good modern neck.
