2017 Eastman E10OM 000-Size Guitar

While Eastman calls this an E10 "OM" guitar, it's really more closely-related to a Martin 000-18 as it's a short-scale instrument. It's very well-built, has a classy sunburst finish, gorgeous figured mahogany on the back and sides, is solid-wood throughout, and has a sort-of '30s feel to the neck profile. Its sound reminds me of early-'60s 000-18s but maybe a hair darker and warmer. This mids are slightly scooped in the familiar Martin way -- giving it that "velvet" quality folks are generally looking for.

An ebony fretboard and bridge are retro-looking nods compared to rosewood, it has a bone nut and saddle, and the binding is excellent-looking tortoise stuff that pops in the light.

My work on it was light but now that it's all done-up it's playing fast and easy and it's stable in service.

Repairs included: a fret level/dress, lots of cleaning, and setup adjustments.

Condition notes: the endpin hole was widened for a pickup jack (that was removed when it got here) and is now filled and has a replacement endpin in it. There's a fair amount of playwear to the guitar that's not obvious from the photos, too, but it still looks good. There's a lot of light pickwear at the soundhole and general handling wear throughout. No cracks, no damage, no fuss, though, and it's good to go.
