Local Flavor: Wedding, Weather, Visitors, Tired
What an odd summer so far, right? Warm right off the bat... now rainy and cold. 45F and damp-chill over the weekend? There were times I was thinking of running the pellet stove but I think I convinced the family of the value of sweaters and flannels instead. Hmm.
On Saturday I was doing PA-and-band duty at my friend Todd's wedding. It got rained-out and it ran late and wild, but it was memorable and fun all the same.
Todd has many musical family members and friends so we had a whole drum kit setup, two electric amps, and my bass rig all tied-in.
Here's Mr. T rocking on a Les Paul kit I finished-up for him as a wedding gift.
The jam group played a bunch that night with the main man himself.
Earlier, my buddy Rob and I learned Wagner's "The Bride's Chorus" (you know it in your mind) as the family members meant to play it were stranded in DC by airline trouble. We butchered it effectively for the ceremony after about half an hour's destroying it from memory during practice.
...and there it is! Vows and rings! It was a perfect, wild, mountain wedding.
Sunday (Father's Day) was nice and relaxing, though. My Mom escaped up here to Vermont (from CT) on Friday and hung-out with us over the weekend. Her doggo was fascinated by our cats and we had many rounds of board games while it sprinkled and spittled from the sky outside.
This must have been a Friday walk as I'm still in my work clothes, heh heh. No sense getting superglue and tuner lube on my button-downs...
