2004 Martin J12-15 Jumbo 12-String Guitar

The modern, mahogany-topped Martins made in the US have been excellent instruments for their price points. I've worked on lots of them that have been gigging performers' main squeezes for years. This J12-15 is no slouch, either, and features a "0000" (small jumbo) body shape, quick and stable neck, and an excellent tone -- full, warm, and mildly compressed/woody in that mahogany way. This turns-out to be a great thing with a 12-string because the highs and lows aren't overly-accentuated as they might be on a big-body, spruce-top guitar of this sort. It sounds clean, jangly, and to the point.

After 18 years in service, the only adjustments needed were to the truss rod and adjustment at the nut and saddle. The latter I fully-compensated to keep it in better tune up the neck. It plays spot-on, fast, and easy. I've used a slightly-tweaked set of 12-string extra lights (46w-10) that give it a little bit more of an "electric 12" feel.

Repairs included: saddle compensation, glorified setup work.

Condition notes: it has wear around the soundhole where the rosette decal has been picked-away. The finish has been "buffed" along edges where hands and arms make contact with it (bass lower bout top, near soundhole, etc.) but overall the guitar is quite clean otherwise. It's crack-free, all-original, and in good order. The top shows a touch of "belly" up under the bridge like you'd expect to see on a lighter-braced acoustic like this guy.

It comes with: no case, sorry! I may have an old chip case to fit it FOC, but if I do it won't be fancy.
