1971 Fender Bassman 50w Tube Amp Head

A video and internal shots will be coming soon...

This curious beast has been freshly gone-over by FYD (Dan Lurie) Amps up in Burlington and I'm sure if you prodded him, he'd give you a rundown on its service. Suffice to say it's working in top form.

There's a newer Mercury Magnetics output transformer in there, a fresh set of power tubes, a mix of JJ, EHX, and Groove Tubes preamp tubes, and a 3-prong, modern-style receptacle in place for current-era power cables. The "bass" channel has also been modified for use as a guitar channel, so the highs are no longer scooped-out.

There's no factory date stamp on the tube chart and the chassis number correlates to 1970/1971 -- at the tail-end of production for the Bassman 50. I'm supposing that the faceplate has been replaced with a repro Blackface one, in this case, as it should have a Silverface panel on here for its production date.
