2010s Jason Twigg-Smith "The Pharaoh" Jerry-Style Electric Guitar

This Jerry-tastic, super-deluxe guitar was made by my Mr. Jason Twigg-Smith just a hop, skip, and jump down the road from here. It's a very Vermont guitar, right down to its VT-sourced butternut and maple body and neck. Everything else about it screams love and respect and homage to Mr. Jerry, however.

It's all hand-made, right down to every last piece of pearl and inlay in its intricate Egyptian-style scenes -- a pharaoh and pyramids down on the front lower-bout, an African-continent snapshot of the world at the headstock, friggin Anubis on the back, and decorative flourishes throughout the fretboard. This instrument is dense with craft.

As a Jerry-style guitar, it also has a plethora of options with the wiring. There's a unity gain buffer under the pharaoh's hood with a 9V battery tucked in there. That aids with the effects loop (the second jack) right next to it, as I recall. The three mini-switches are for different coil splits (and phase reversal, I think) on the pickups. I cover playing in all positions in the (extremely long, sorry) demo video.

The construction is up to date, too, with a super-stable neck featuring multi-piece construction, two carbon fiber non-adjustable reinforcement rods, and a two-way adjustable truss rod. The fretwire is EVO Gold and wears hard and long. All the hardware is gold-plated and heavy-duty and the tuners are locking Sperzels. It's built like an absolute tank and will hold-up to the rigors of daily gigging with no trouble at all.

Need I mention all the details? Just check the pics. There's so much to enjoy. Maple binding? Check! Scarab, pyramid, and sun inlay in the neck? Check! Contoured body and horns? Check! Fluted brass nut? Check! It goes on and on.

And, yes, it plays and sounds the absolute biz. I wish I could play in the style for you all, but I think you get an idea of the various sounds available in this rig.
