1970s Yamaha FG-75 00-Size Flattop Guitar
I've worked on lots of old Yamaha FG-series guitars and maybe about a half-dozen of the 75s like this one. The difference, here, is that most of the work was done on this one by Mr. Ancel:
He did a great job and it's now playing spot-on and feels easygoing in the left hand. I like these little guitars as they're a bit different from their bigger, x-braced cousins in that they have fan-style bracing and an even lighter build. It's only a bit over 3 lbs.
Soundwise, they've got a little more sustain and a bit more of a midsy voice. That works well for fingerpickers, though, where the extra clarity is welcome.
As per the usual, the body is all-ply throughout. Everything is stock on it, too, save the truss cover which is a parts-bin special.
Repairs included: a neck reset, fret level/dress, cleaning, and setup.
Top wood: ply spruce
Back & sides wood: ply mahogany-like
