1970s Jakey & Jemmo Mountain Dulcimer

This is a dulcimer that local Jakey (not me) built with Mr. Jeremy (Jemmo) Seeger some time ago. Jemmo passed just recently and it's a great loss for the community, so it was nice to see some of his legacy around the shop.

To be clear: Jakey built it under his supervision back in the day, but it's got his workshop's fingerprints all over the design and style. I see Jemmo's dulcimers in every now and then and every time they make me smile.

They also tend to be sweet-sounding but have a more-carrying voice than a lot of folk dulcimers out there in the world.
