2010s Takamine EF740S 000-Size Guitar

This well-played Takamine specimen was just in the shop for repair -- a bridge reglue and a level/dress of the frets and setup. I was impressed by the tone, though, so figured I'd give a shout-out for it. It's a cedar-topped 000 and reminds me of old '80s Daions (this is a good thing -- it's loud and full and warm-sounding) but with a faster neck profile.

I do not like the giant integral preamp panel on the shoulder but the pickup does sound good. It has an odd design, though, with an oversize saddle rout under the bridge and a big, bolted-on contraption under there that made the bridge reglue a little quirky. Well -- cedar will do that anyhow, though, as it likes to "peel apart" like pages in a book when the bridge separates.

So: carry on, Takamine. Good job.
