1960s Kay K6833 Archtop Guitar

This fella is a Kay K6833 dating from the early to mid '60s judging by the headstock style and trim options. It has a poplar neck, rosewood board and bridge, non-adjustable truss in the neck, ply maple back and sides, and a ply spruce top. The scale is extra-long like most Kays at 25 7/8" and it has a mids-forward, crunchy-sounding bite to its tone. The neck's on the quicker side for a Kay from this time so it's actually pretty dang fun to play chop chords up and down it to the heart's content.

My guy Ancel did most of the work on this -- a tricky neck reset (the joint was frustrating in that it was so poorly-made), fret level/dress, and setup and adjustment work.
