2022 Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster Electric Guitar

There's not much more to say about this guitar other than "hoo-baby!" It's a practically new USA-built Jazzmaster in Ocean Turquoise metallic with a tortoise pickguard and bound fretboard minus the obnoxious block inlay. It's a looker!

After a quick setup, it plays spot-on, too, and is fit for service. The neck profile is pretty-much classic Fender but the board has a hair less radius (9 1/2" vs vintage-correct 7 1/4") and is a little wider at the nut than the '60s ones I encounter a lot (1 11/16" vs 1 5/8"). Both those features give it a slightly more-modern feel which most folks will find a bit more homey.

The pickups are bright and clean-sounding and the neck does a lovely "whomp" for chord-chucking when dialed-in just-so at the amp. The trem works as it should and stays in tune, though the obsessive in me would love to see a Mastery bridge on there.

Repairs included: a quick setup.
