2001 ESP LTD B-50 Electric Bass guitar

This is a good, practical, gig-worthy, student bass. This particular bass saw a ton of gigs in its time, too. It has a P/J pickup combo, comfortable body and neck, average weight, and inoffensive look and color. The current owner put the sticker and paint marker bits down near the controls. One of the knobs was missing, too, so it has a replacement black one.

It's got a modern, clean sound to it and a decent amp will have it sounding punchy and accurate.

Repairs included: setup and mild cleaning (still could use a deep clean).

Weight: 7 lbs 10 oz

Scale length: 34"

Nut width: 1 5/8"

Neck shape: slim-medium C

Board radius: 12"

Body width: 12 5/8"

Body depth: 1 3/4"

Body wood: unknown

Bridge: standard Fender-style

Fretboard: rosewood

Neck wood: maple

Pickups: 1x P-style humbucker, 1x -style single coil

Action height at 12th fret: 3/32" bass and 1/16" treble (fast, spot-on)
String gauges: 100w-40w or similar

Truss rod: adjustable

Neck relief: straight

Fret style: bigger-jumbo

Condition notes: there's a ton of wear and tear in the body by way of repositioned strap buttons on the upper horn, small nicks and dings and scratches throughout, and of course that funny sticker on the lower bout.

It comes with: no case.

Jake,
Your blog posts and demos are always appreciated.
Your reviews are honest and practical.
I am looking at purchasing this bass for $150 in Chicago, IL.
Your demo B50 was made in Korea. My possible B50 is made in Indonesia a few years after yours was made.
Is Indonesian B50 equal in quality to the Korean B50? Hope so.
Thanks.

Jake,

One day later I purchased the ESP LTD B50 at a local Chicago guitar shop. $160 with a free gig bag tossed into the deal.

Why did I purchase? zZounds reviewers gave this guitar 4.5 + rating out of 362 reviews. But most importantly, you gave it a solid thumbs up.

Both your bass and my bass only have passive pickups. Most LTD B50's on the Internet have passive pickups with EQ.

Thanks Jake. I have used your site many times to look at "wish list" guitars. You have both entertained me and saved me from buying lesser guitars/basses.

I sent a monetary "thank you" your way using your website.

Best Wishes,
Richard
