1960s Dana Tele-Style Rubber Bridge Electric Guitar
These Tele-alike guitars come in all sorts of brands but the word on the net is that these were built by Sakai. I don't know if Sakai was more a small-shop distributor or actual maker, but most of the parts and design style of this instrument stink of Kawai/Teisco of the late '60s. Whoever made it, it's Japanese-built, lightweight, and has a fun, offbeat look.
Because it's got a simple pickup and bridge setup, I thought it would make a great rubber-bridge conversion candidate -- and it does! While a "normal bridge" sounds nice and vaguely '50s clean-jazzy in nature on it, the rubber-bridge setup makes it a lot more interesting.
Repairs included: a fret level/dress, replacement jack, new tuner ferrules, rubber bridge mod (new rosewood saddle w/rubber top), general cleaning, and setup.

Condition notes: aside from the bridge mod, tuner ferrules (originals were crud plastic), and a new jack, it's all-original throughout. We relocated the "bridge ground" to the tailpiece, however. It has weather-checking to the finish on the top and back in longer finsih cracks and various small nicks and dings here and there. Overall, though, it's got a cleanish look to it for its age.
It comes with: sorry, no case.
