1970 Harmony H1260 Sovereign Jumbo Guitar

This is a cool-looking old H1260 as it's got a top that's UV-darkened to a nice pumpkin-top orange color like on old Gibson mandolins. Its pickguard was taken off probably near when it was new and I think it's a neat look. It's also got a fair amount of "bearclaw" figure to the spruce top which looks nice as light hits it at different angles.

Post-repairs it's playing spot-on and has a nice voice that works well for a variety of styles, though perhaps country-blues or folksy fingerpicking and medium-intensity strumming are its strong suits. I got this guitar from my friend Kevin who used to run "Guitar Sam" in Montpelier, VT but he recently retired and I've been buying fun gear from him now and then as he goes through his collection.

Repairs included: a neck reset, fret level/dress, cleaning, setup, etc.

Condition notes: it's all-original save the new bone saddle but is missing its original pickguard. It's been gone a long time (probably since new) because the original top finish has UVed to a nice pumpkin orange and it doesn't look discolored in that area. There's residue from the original pickguard adhesive still on the top but you can only see it when you get the light glared on it just so as in the photo I took of it. The fretboard extension dips away and down from the rest of the board, slightly, post-reset. I do this because these tops like to swell a bit in summer and it gives more leeway against fretting-out as the seasons change in that area. Besides, admit it -- who regularly plays past 17 on a jumbo anyhow?  There's mild usewear to the finish throughout via small nicks and scratches and dings but overall it looks good. The heel area has some discoloration to the finish near the joint.

It comes with: no case, sorry!
