2023 Partscaster Metallic Orange Bound Tele-Style Electric Guitar

Our friend John is a gear-swapper extraordinaire. He's on the chase and he had us put this one together while he was on the hunt for the ideal Tele for his use earlier this year. He's since moved-on to Musicman guitars and those have quite a different neck feel, so I understand why he's now letting this one ride on out into the sunset.

At any rate, it has a good pedigree! The neck is a US-sourced "Nate's Relic" roasted-flamed-maple job and the hardware is off the same "Nate's Relic" guitar. It has Duncan Antiquity Tele pickups installed and a good harness under the hood. The saddles are 3x brass and compensated for 3-plain, 3-wound modern stringing. It has a neat "aged" pickguard, too, to match the hardware. The body is from a few-years-old Squier Classic Vibe bound Telecaster and it's in metallic orange -- how about that? It looks killer.

Ancel did most of the work on this guitar, I think, and it's put together with attention to detail and is ship-shape and ready to roll. The biggest part of the work was planing the board and changing the radius from 10" to 12" per John's request. That makes it a "slightly modern top" with a "vintage back" profile -- something very familiar to players used to boutique-style modern instruments with specs that are often close to that.

So, yep -- it's a Tele, through and through, and gets the job done with aplomb.

Repairs included: a board plane and re-radius to 12" and refret with jumbo stock, minor wiring work, and "cobbling" work to put the whole project together. It's sturdy and stable and good to go.
