1966 Martin D-28 Dreadnought Guitar
Update, 2024: this guitar is for sale by the new owner on Facebook and people have been asking me questions about it. The short of it is that my work is listed below and it was glorified setup and adjustments -- and no, I am not responsible for the oversize bridge or the coin on the back of the heel...
This is a customer's pretty, Brazilian rosewood-backed, D-28. It's lived a rough life and has scars from an old headstock repair, various hairline cracks in the top and back, a replacement oversize pickguard (older) and oversize, homemade bridge, and a wonderful replacement heel cap.
It was brought in to get it ready for a trade deal -- the owner's a lefty and he wanted it de-lefy-fied and made a righty again and needed its cosmetic and playing issues solved. To that end it got a 5" section of replacement binding on the back, a level/dress of the frets, minor fill/crack work, a fill/recut of the saddle slot and bridge pin holes, minor reprofiling of the chunky bridge, and setup work.
Post-repairs it's playing spot-on and it has a good, strong, rich sound with (surprisingly) a lot of punch in the upper-mids that's often lacking on D-28s. D-28s tend to favor low-end rumble so it's nice to hear one that can leap-out for single-note runs a little better than average.
