1920s Bacon Professional Carved-Top Mandolin

My buddy Gary brought this Bacon mandolin in for a quick setup. The company made these mandolins through the late '20s and they were intended to sit in the market in the same space as Gibson's nicer instruments and Lyon & Healy Artist models. It sounds quite Gibson-like, to be honest, and has good punch and pop and a crisp attack.

I mean -- it's classy, right? I love the 2-point look on these. It's kind-of aristocratic in style. It's spruce over maple, too, in violin fashion.

It's lovely. I've been challenged to design a t shirt featuring this model.
