1920s Stromberg-Voisinet (Kay) 8" Resonator Banjo-Ukulele
The last time I saw this uke was way back in 2010, I think. It's a nice, fancier-quality, Stromberg-Voisinet-made instrument (later, Kay) from the mid-late '20s and features a full resonator backplate and simple hoop tonering. It's got pearloid over the fretboard and headstock and, let's admit it -- it looks slick.
It's had a lot of old repairs done to it, but its work this time was meant to make it a practical player for the long haul rather than just minor adjustments -- it got a set of 4:1 geared pegs, a fret level/dress, new Remo Renaissance head, new strings, and setup work.
These are loud, punchy, forward instruments and do the Formby thing right-on.
