1960s Silvertone (Harmony) 1446 "Chris Isaak" Hollowbody Electric Guitar

This model became known as the "Chris Isaak" model because said performer used one in the '80s. His first album is called "Silvertone." How about that?

That aside, it's an interesting instrument and I've worked on 3 or 4 of them in the past. They're much like a Harmony Meteor or Rocket in construction but have fancier trim, Bigsby whammies, and sport Gibson-made mini-humbucker pickups that were "built to order" for this model. Thus, they're really guitars that are a bit beyond their station compared to their Harmony-branded brethren.

Before work they can play ok but once they're dialed-in they play nicely and can be faithful workhorses. The Harmony necks are either something you will love or hate -- they're 1 3/4" at the nut and have a tighter board radius and chunkier C/D neck shape -- and they don't "widen-up" much as they approach the heel. It's a very distinct shape.

I've known this one for a little bit and it hasn't budged in its setup at all since I last saw it.

Repairs included: a fret level/dress, some wiring repairs (to fix parts of the newer harness), cleaning, and setup.

Condition notes: it's all-original save for an added pinup sticker on the pickguard (can be removed if desired), the wiring harness aside from the 3-way switch, and the bridge which looks like it was added by someone in the '70s to replace the wonky original bridges these usually have. It shows playwear and usewear throughout but has no structural worries. It's currently setup for flatwound 11s with a wound G, but I can restring and setup however you like -- just let me know!

It comes with: a decent hard case.
