2020s Ibanez Gio GRX40 Strat-Style Electric Guitar
This is a recent, student-grade guitar similar to something like a Squier Strat. It's HSS in configuration (single, single, hum! -- we're talking pickups) and so you get a few classic Strat-like sounds with rawk thrown-in at the end, so to speak.
My guy Jose did a thorough setup on it and it's playing spot-on and ready to serve.
Compared to Squier Affinity models and the like, this guitar has some distinct upgrades -- the tremolo/whammy unit is built a little heavier and has better-quality saddles and a more modern design style, the pickups are less harsh and more "classic" in nature, and it has sealed tuners at the headstock.
While the nut width is very much "standard Fender" in feel, the neck shape and fretboard radius give it more of a Taylor-style or, hah-hah, Ibanez-style handling experience. It's quicker in profile and the flatter radius to the board is definitely not a Fender-a-like feel.
Tbe black finish also has faint silver-sparkle highlights which recalls '60s Danelectro offerings, in a way.
