1960s Harmony H162 000-Size Guitar

I have worked on way too many H162 models over the years so it was nice to only have to work a little bit on this one. I reset the neck and helped recut the saddle slot, but the rest of the work was done by my buddy Tim.

H162s are popular with Harmony fans and I get it -- they're 000-size, down-home and friendly in looks, and have a woody, chunky sound to them that's pretty endearing (especially for fingerpicking). I can't suggest buying the earlier versions (without truss rods) unless you want to roll the dice on a warped neck, but the ones like this guy (with a truss rod) make pretty reliable, daily-driver sorts of instruments.

This fella has a little bit of damage but is overall in good order. Post-repairs it's playing spot-on and ready to serve.

Repairs included: a neck reset, fret level/dress, new bone saddle and saddle slot recut, replacement bridge pins, minor crack re-repair to the side, minor binding stabilization, cleaning, and setup.

Condition notes: it has a longer crack in the bass side that was repaired in the past but it's not super-well-fit. We filled it a bit more and it's stable. The binding has lots of cracks in it and we soaked-in some glue to stabilize it. There's a small section where there's a missing bit on the back (pictured, near endpin). Other than that, there's the usual number of smaller scuffs, scrapes, scratches, nicks, and dings here and there throughout. I think you can get a sense of it from the photos -- it's been living and has been loved.

It comes with: sorry, no case.
