1970s Greco Supersounds (Very Modded) Strat-Style Electric Guitar

The owner of this guitar bought it directly from Japan in this condition. Well, I mean -- he bought it in this format, anyway. Its condition has been much-improved with an almost entirely new wiring harness, fret level/dress work, and proper setup work done here. As for other changes? We swapped terrible roller string trees for vintage-looking Fender-style ones, replaced the switch tip and pots, gave it a proper quality cap, and replace the jack along with it all.

It arrived from Japan already modded with body cavities filled, non-original pickups installed, and the wiring harness completely destroyed. The highlight of it all is that the finish is rattlecan gold and the pickguard is "splashed" with paint to get the wonderful '80s effect. The retro sticker just seals the deal, no?

Greco copycat guitars are very popular Stateside these days. This one is a pretty authentic interpretation of a '70s Strat in terms of feel and body shape and neck flavor, though the neck itself is a 3-piece maple affair which is (ironically) more stable than a normal Fender neck would be, being multi-piece. Much of the hardware has been swapped-out and, of course, none of the "Stratty" parts of the pickups and wiring exist anymore, so we can't really comment on that part of the equation.

Anyhow, after all of the headaches were solved, this turned into a superb player.
