1920s Stromberg Professional Resonator Tenor Banjo

This absolutely intense tenor banjo is not the work of Stromberg-Voisinet (Kay), but rather the famous archtop builder Stromberg. It's a ne plus ultra sort-of instrument, completely decked-out and engraved everywhere, inlaid everywhere, with colorful purfling and binding choices, and just over-the-top in the best ways. The owner put on a clear mylar head, too, so one can peer in and see all of the intricacies of the tonering and mute mechanism.

This one was just in for a level/dress and glorified setup work and now that it's done it's a spot-on player. It has an odd, long, 25" scale length so it's somewhere between a plectrum banjo and tenor banjo. The owner still tunes it CGDA like a tenor but with lighter strings (we have gauges 28w, 20w, 13, and 9 on here.

The neck is Brazilian rosewood, by the way, and check out the carving at the heel!
