1930s Czech-Made Petrus Cremonensis Guarneri 4/4 Violin

This has a bogus Guarneri label but is, in fact, a rather decent-sounding, Czech-made instrument from the '20s or '30s. It's in good shape, has a smart look, and a clean, pure sound to it that works well for fiddling.

Of interest is the Harmony-style (chemically-applied) "faux-flame" finish on the back and neck. This is not real figure in the wood but sort of "burned-in" via chemical application. It looks very fancy at a glance until you turn it around in the light and notice that it has none of the "3-D" effect that actual figure would provide. That said, the sides show light figure throughout and the top has nicely-tight grain, anyhow.

Andy did any work that was necessary and the instrument is playing spot-on and is ready to serve. He's fit a new bridge and tailpiece as well as a new chinrest. It's in good order.

Repairs included: setup work, minor seam work, and adjustments.
