1930s Oahu (Regal-Made) Squareneck Hawaiian Guitar

This is a late-'30s or early-'40s, Regal-made, Oahu-branded, mahogany-bodied squareneck guitar intended for Hawaiian-style slide playing. It has the Regal-style "transverse-ladder-bracing" in the top which helps the bass a bit and gives it that airy, woody, floaty voice that a lot of Regals tend to have. It's a perfect sound for steel playing, too!

I have worked on loads of these in the past and this one arrived here in decent order save that it needed a bunch of cleats for its sort-of-repaired hairline cracks. It also has a replacement bridge that (hilariously) has a compensated saddle that's unnecessary for slide work. Jose did all the work and the cherry on top is that we fit an original extender nut (as would have come from the factory on this anyhow) so it maintains the steely sound even on the open strings.
