1947 Gibson ES-125 Hollowbody Electric Guitar

It's hard to argue with an old ES-125. They exude understated cool and can flit between classic jazz and rockabilly sounds, no problem. This '48 has the earlier Alnico-pole pickup type that uses a P90 bobbin but is more-similar in sound and construction to Gibson's same-period lap steel pickups or Fender's Jazzmaster pickups. They're also tonally similar to DynaSonics. It's a crisp, clean, clear sound that rejects feedback a little better than P90-equipped ES-125s, too.

It only needed a glorified setup to get it going and it's playing beautifully. It does have a couple of patched holes (top and back) but is otherwise looking grand.

Repairs included: a fret level/dress, saddle adjustments, cleaning, and setup.

It comes with: a good hard case.
