1958 Fender Duo Sonic Electric Guitar

So -- this appears to be an almost entirely-original '58 Duo Sonic, save that the body has been refinished in the original Desert Sand. Why is that so? Well -- the story is excellent! This was apparently owned by a guy who did an "axes and guitars" juggling act. The guitar, apparently, got quite a lot of gouges and scratches all over the body, so it was refinished at some point.

I know what you're thinking -- I want to see the blood! I want to see the guts! Show me it as-is! Ah, but we cannot turn back time, can we? I remember taking a rattlecan to a '61 Duo Sonic body sometime back as the back had been stripped and the corners sanded on an original burst. Stupid! This, however, looks great in the refin as the refin has had a little time to "relax" and get some mild wear of its own.

Anyhow, this guy only needed a light level/dress of the frets and setup work before we could hang it in the shop as a proper player.

Repairs included: a fret level/dress, cleaning, and setup.

Condition notes: it's all-original, as far as I can see, except for the finish on the body and perhaps the pickguard -- the anodized gold is pretty clean on top but it does show wear marks like old ones have. I'm not sure if there are supposed to be brass "grounding plates" in the body cavities, either, in this year, or not. The neck shows considerable wear and tear but it looks and feels nice. There's an "axe strike" right at the neck pocket on the side of the neck's heel but it's not a structural issue, it's just a little snip.

It comes with: a gigbag.
