2000s Epiphone Emperor Hollowbody Electric Guitar
So -- you're looking for a jazzbox but don't want to spend big bucks? These newer Epiphone Emperors definitely have it. This is a Korean-made one and it has a great feel, slick looks, the classic "Johnny Smith" tone, and a certain amount of style.
This one was just in for a quick setup but I was impressed with the out-of-the-box playability. It was not far-off the mark and I don't think anyone else had adjusted the guitar beforehand.
The one issue you might have with these is that the short side of the tailpiece might be too short for some string sets with wrapped windings (as in, wrapped in silk) at the headstock end. We couldn't put a set of (the desired) LaBella flatwounds on it because the silked end terminated around fret 1 with the long afterlength.
