2020s Guild M-120 0-Size Guitar
I took this newer "Westerly Collection" Guild in on trade and, like the other ones I've handled, it's a pretty nice guitar. I know many people around our area who swear by the newer import Guilds and who have used them for for 10 or more years as steady players and gigging buddies. This one apes the old M-20 model made famous by Nick Drake and countless other folksinger types and it does a very good approximation of the sound. It's got the woody warmth that you want from these things and a directness of sound that's extremely useful for fingerpickers.
Compared to the originals, though, the nut width is wider on this and the neck more of a modern "low oval" profile compared to a vintage C shape with a tighter board radius. This reads as -- it's more useful to a wider variety of players right off the bat. It also has a gloss finish that really brings out (especially on this guitar) any figure in the wood. The rosette is also pearl-inlaid vs. the relatively plain rosette of the originals.
This one arrived in good shape but I did have Jose level and dress the frets and give it a setup and now it's playing perfectly.
Repairs included: a light level/dress of the frets and a setup.
