1920s Vega Mahogany Parlor Guitar

A customer sent this instrument in to get spruced-up. While its serialization suggests a teens-era instrument, this one is likely a mid-1920s one. It apes the Martin 17-series looks from the time and flits between "size 2" and "0 size" in specs. It's ladder-braced and simply-built with plain-Jane appointments, but it nevertheless has drawn folks to it while awaiting shipment home in the shop. It's "got something" that makes you want to play it.

Tim and I tag-teamed this a bit, but he did most of the work on it. I wound-up getting a neck reset, minor bridge modification, a bunch of crack repairs and some brace repairs, a fret level/dress job, cleaning, and setup work. It plays spot-on, now, but is limited to wearing 50w-11 strings at maximum for standard E-to-E stringing. I think anything heavier would give the top some trouble, though the neck is nice and stable.
