1959 Gibson GA-8 Gibsonette 9w 1x10" Tube Amp Combo
Folks -- what is not to like about an amp like this? It's low-wattage, easy on the ears, breaks-up like mad, sounds tweedy-great while doing it, and looks killer, too. I suppose if you want to play clean, clean, clean this would not be ideal -- but there are many amps out there to choose from if that's the desire!
This one was serviced and gone-through down in Boston, is ready to go, and has a Patriot "Lil Buddy" speaker in place of the original. I consider that a pretty good sonic upgrade when you figure that the original Jensen that would have been in here is of a type that usually gets a bit flappy and unmusical with age. But I digress...
There are some condition things to think a bout -- one of the rubber feet for the bottom is missing (and currently it rests on the screw for that foot, but if desired I have no problem fitting a foot), the tolex shows wear throughout and lots of discoloration from use and storage, and the upper-back-panel appears to be a replacement (as well as its mounting screws).
