1920s Washburn 1422 (Regal) 2-Point Flatback Mandolin

A consignor dropped this mandolin off ages ago in a batch of mandolins and just recently my guy Tim fixed it up. He and I tag-teamed a neck reset and then he leveled/dressed the frets and set it all up. I think there were some braces needing regluing in there, too. It's playing great, anyhow, and sold the morning after he'd finished it, in-shop.

These Washburn-branded flatback mandolins from the teens and '20s were made by Regal for the firm and there are many examples of this same model of mandolin sold under various brands -- including SS Stewart and Regal's own. This one's nicer-grade and has Brazilian rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fretboard and bridge.

They're ladder-braced and have a canted top (like on a bowlback mandolin) and tend to have a warm, sweet, clean, refined sound to them. They're not "woofy" like some flatbacks but they're definitely on the warmer side of tone.
