1950s Newcomb M-9 Tube Amp Combo

This is a low-output, mono, simple tube amp with integral 6x9" speaker. It's meant to produce sounds for phono-style inputs (record players!) but, strangely-enough, these have gained a following in the guitar community because they're cute and, I'm assuming, because they can play quiet at night when one wants to jam a bit but not wake up the house.

This one is completely stock except for an added jack that allows the leads for the speaker to be shunted over to it so it can be used as a "speaker out" jack and also a 3-prong cable that I added for safety's sake. Note that there is a photo of this "side jack" where I have shunted the blue/yellow speaker leads over to it for use as a "speaker out" jack.

Judging by the features, this appears to be very late '50s in build but it may be early '60s instead. I'm not sure exactly when the firm changed their knobs to the smaller, chrome-trimmed knobs.

The front panel has one knob which is "on/off+tone" and one knob which is "volume."
