1968 Goya (Levin) G-10 Folk/Classical Guitar

A customer who splits time between New York and Vermont brought this old Goya in for service. Most Goya-brand instruments through until the mid-'70s were made by Levin in Sweden. The G-10 was the company's entry-level classical/folk nylon guitar and it has a shorter scale and slightly-thinner dimensions to the body than your average "Spanish" classical. The necks are faster, too, which makes them perfect folk guitars for daily use.

They're solid spruce over solid birch, have fan bracing, and aluminum-reinforced, thin-depth necks. This one was in to get a bridge reglue but it needed more than that, as usual. I reset the neck and Jose leveled/dressed the frets, reglued the bridge, and fit a new bone saddle (the original plastic one had been shaved too much). It's now playing spot-on at 3/32" at the 12th fret, but the owner's coming back in at some point to get it jacked-up as he's a heavy-handed picker.
