1890s A.C. Fairbanks Fancy Bowlback Mandolin

This is a gorgeous old Fairbanks mandolin (Boston) that Tim worked-on for a local customer. It's a tip-top model with a bazillion rosewood ribs in the bowl, superfluous inlay and trim, and an impeccable build quality. I'm not sure of the model or exact date but I would expect from the features that it's from the late 1890s right before Vega absorbed Fairbanks in 1904.

Tim repaired a number of top cracks, leveled and dressed the frets, repaired some cosmetic damage here and there, and set it all up. It's now playing spot-on and is fit for service.

It's got an ebony board and bridge, bar frets, a spruce top, and mahogany neck.
