1973 Guild D-40 Dreadnought Guitar

This is a local customer's Guild D-40 and, considering its age, it's in fantastic condition. This is Guild's competition for Martin's D-18 and I have always found that they're popular guitars with singers in Americana bands and pickers in the bluegrass scene up here. They've got punch and clarity in the mids that can be lacking, sometimes, on D-18s.

This one needed a neck reset, level/dress of the frets, a replacement saddle, and setup work -- all of which I did. It's playing bang-on, looks great, and has an even, full sound.

Per the usual, these have a long scale length, solid spruce top with x-bracing, solid mahogany back and sides, mahogany necks, and rosewood boards and bridges. The neck is faster and more electric-feeling than a Martin but not quite as quick as a Gibson from the same time.
