1973 Martin D-35 Dreadnought Guitar
This is a local customer's D-35 and it's in great shape. It needed the usual "old guitar" stuff -- a neck reset, fret level/dress, replacement pickguard, bridge reglue, and minor cosmetic/hairline crack repairs -- but now that it's done-up it's a bang-on player and has a good, full, proud sound.
I like the ruddy-colored rosewood on the back and sides and the bright, buttery-yellow top color to the finish. I swapped the original black pickguard out for a '60s-looking red tortoise one cut to fit, but it's otherwise looking more-or-less "like itself."
A funny side story on this guitar is that I handed the owner's wife the wrong guitar when she picked it up and so I got to go on a short adventure up to Waitsfield to swap them out. Luckily, both guitars had the exact same work orders, so all was well.
